Our Independent Medical Examination (IME) service offers a vast network of fully credentialed, board-certified medical professionals from a myriad of specialties. Merit Medical provides value throughout the entire IME process meeting your case’s unique needs.
With every complex claim, the one thing that is required above all else is a trusted, impartial medical opinion.
Let Merit Medical connect you with one of our qualified physicians, and be the trusted resource you need.
Merit Medical Evaluations first implemented V-IMEs in 2017 in collaboration with physicians, physical therapists, and software developers. This new take on IMEs via telecommunication connects expert specialists to rural locations in the Midwest region.
On the exam day, the injured person arrives at a partnering physical therapy clinic. A physical therapist or occupational therapist administers the exam on behalf of the doctor, who attends the exam virtually using a high-performance camera and speakerphone system.
Our Virtual IME locations:
Our Medical Record Review service is performed by a board-certified physician with the specialty required for the injury or condition needing review. Our experienced staff is committed to compiling the injured person’s medical history including all medical records, and imaging. The compiled and sorted records are reviewed and analyzed by the physician. The physician then provides an in-depth objective report that addresses specific questions and determines what necessary and reasonable medical care for the injured person is.
Additionally, phone calls with the physician can be scheduled to provide further clarification if needed.
